Name: Anthony Erik Henderson
Gender: Male
Age: 54
Job: Custodian
Habitat: Anthony lives in a tiny, run down apartment in Paris, in a not-so-nice neighborhood. It is like a bachelor pad, where there are no separate rooms for anything. His kitchen area consists of a small icebox, a very old propane stove, no oven, a counter with a sink, and a small table with a chair. His bathroom can be curtained off, but it still does not provide much privacy. The toilet is the only thing in the bathroom that has actual plumbing. There is no sink in the bathroom area, but the kitchen is only a few steps away. The tub must be filled manually from water pumped through the sink and heated on the stove, bucket by bucket. The bed is old and rusty, with springs that creak with every movement. His blankets are old and worn, with one single, very flat pillow. There is one shelf in his room, which is loaded down with priceless trinkets that he has picked up over his many years. His walls are also adorned with various paintings that are beautiful, but quite worthless, as they were attained from friends who painted them themselves.
(If you must, imagine Peter Parker's apartment in Spider Man 2 and 3. XD)
Physical Description: Anthony is old. Plain and simple, no getting around it. His pale face is lined with creases based on age and laughter, along with stress and hardship. His cheeks are slightly hollowed out from the years, but nothing can hide the wisdom and twinkle in his amazing light blue eyes. His face is always clean shaven, and the hair on the top of his head is waning. What hair he has left is a mixture of silver and black.
Anthony is approximately 5'8" tall and weighs about 153lbs. He is not fat, but has a bit of a tummy which cannot really be helped, due to his age and lack of cardio excersize. His hands are worn and calloused from hard work, but may still hold the soft touch of a lover, or father, or friend. He usually wears loose trousers and a plain shirt, with suspenders holding up his pants. He often has a light jacket, just so he isn't showing off his suspenders. His shoes are old, but are always very clean. He keeps all of his clothes immaculately clean, washing them in his tub after he has his nightly bath. He has always been very anal about keeping clean.
Personality Description: Anthony is not the type of man to speak up, or bud into a conversation. He keeps to himself, usually, while enjoying listening in on the conversations around him. Over the years he has learned how to be basically invisible to the people around him, them not knowing he exists, while being acutely aware of all the things that go on in their lives, in their world. He finds it amusing what people's problems are, what their drama is, what they consider to be important.
Even though he is poor, and not very much respected, Anthony is very proud. His posture is always straight, his attitude and manners are always perfect, and he always carries himself as if he were important. People on the street, if they did not know any better, would think he someone to be looked at, someone to model themselves after. If it weren't for Anthony's quiet mannerisms he would be very noticed.
Wisdom is probably Anthony's strongest trait. His very eyes seem loaded with the stuff. His lifetime experiences have taken their toll on Anthony physically, but mentally he could never be better. He is also extremely smart. Even though he did not take any education past high school, he could have very easily gone to become a doctor, had he the money.
History: Anthony was born on a farm in England. It was a small farm, but held a lot of money within it, like most farms tend to do. They had a lot of different farm animals and everything was just fine. Anthony's father, Harold, had been given the farm which had been passed down the family for a few generations. Anthony's mother was once a very lovely young, petite lady named Agatha, but that changed after six children. Anthony, the fifth of six children, remembers his mother being a plump, cheerful woman who was always ready to cook up something special to brighten someone's day. Anthony was actually a very good looking young boy. From the age of sixteen to nineteen he worked on his father's farm, attended school, and fooled around with the young women in the barn's hayloft.
After he was nineteen, he felt the need to move on. He had no means for further education, and he most certainly did not want to grow up to become a farmer. His oldest brother, Jacob, would inherit the land with his wife Sarah, and his other siblings were off getting married and working in shops, or continuing to help on the farm. That wasn't the life for him. His younger sister, Dorothy, was similar. She was a very lovely, lively young girl, who wanted nothing more than to dance and paint and sing. She was special, but nobody other than Anthony could appreciate it. One day, once Dorothy was seventeen years old, the two siblings ran off together to find some sort of future.
They first went to Paris, where Dorothy found her calling. She ran off with a tailor, who was young and attractive, and seemed to love her. She sewed during the day, and danced at night in local cabarets. Anthony did not find anything satisfying in Paris, so he continued on. Oh, the places he went. Along his life he spent time in India, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and a little time in other, smaller countries. Along the way he had several lovers, but nobody that he really wanted to stay with. When he was in his thirties he went back to visit his sister Dorothy, who was still in Paris with her tailor husband Jerry. They had two children, Sofia and Margaret, who were healthy and happy. After spending time with them, he felt the strong urge to settle down and have a family. He moved to Paris to be near his favorite sister, and was introduced to one of her friends- Phillis.
Phillis became a lover of his, and he felt as if he were in love with her. Never had he felt so much towards one person. She infuriated him, made him crazy, and at the same time invigorated him and made him intensely happy. The stir of emotions was so new to him. What else was he to do? They married when Anthony was thirty-seven years old, and she was twenty-six. She was a bit old, back then, for marriage, but she wasn't the best looking dove in the cage, either. She did have a magnificent body hiding under her dress, with voluptuous curves and lovely alabaster skin.
They tried their hardest to have children, but due to an injury involving a horse, Anthony must have not been able to. It would explain why with all his fun with women over the years he had not produced any little surprises. Unfortunately, Phillis was not satisfied. She wanted children, so she left him. He didn't blame her. After that he sank into a minor depression. He spent a lot of time in the dance halls and bordells, where his sister used to dance before she lost her figure to her children. He wasted his money gambling and spending nights with whores. Before long he was back to nothing, and had gotten involved with the wrong kind of people. He ended up fleeing the country, worried for his life. In this time, between the age of forty and fifty, he spent a lot of time on the street. He got to know true cold, hunger, pain, tragedy, and kindness. The years he spent on the street might have taught him more about life than anything else. Unlike most people who spend time on the street, he did not sink further into depression. Instead, learning how to take care of himself, be invisible, and truly discover who he is as a person, he rose from his depression. He felt the need to go back to Paris, and make things right with all the people he had wronged.
So off he went to Paris. He got a job working as a custodian, and was put to work in all the worst places. He cleaned public transit washrooms, various pubs, brothels, dance halls, and anything else reasonably disgusting. He is slowly, but surely, working his way out of debt.
Other: This is my second character, and Anthony Hopkins will be playing the role of Anthony Henderson.
